Art and science meet in a plant press. Whether you want to include the interesting flora you find in your scientific journal, or make a beautiful handmade greeting card, a plant press is invaluable. They are very cheap and easy to make, too!

  1. You want to use an old book – one that wouldn’t matter if it became stained from the plants. An old phone book, or old dictionary would be fine.

I used to press leaves and flowers in the back pages of my Bible, but Dad said I shouldn’t so now I press em between 2 sheets of paper and slide these under books in the shelf.

    Thanks!

  4. Yes, or use longer bolts so that it holds more!

Hi, I am Olivia and I have a question. If you are using bolts and plywood for your plant press, and you have more plants to put in to it, if there wasn’t enough room in the plant press, would you have to make another one?

  6. Hi Mai,

It can be confusing, you’re right! Physics is the fundamental basic level of science that all others are built on. Earth science uses principles from physics. For example, the weather is usually listed on an Earth Science topic, but you’ll need to understand temperature, pressure and energy (which is studied in physics) to understand and make predictions about weather.

Is there a particular experiment you had in mind?

  7. Mai Dwaikat says:

    Dear Aurora,

I have noticed under Earth Science that the main topics are related to Physics what is the relation between Earthscience and physics for KG?

    Hi,
My name is Mia and i am trying to get my little sister who is in kindergarten some videos and science experiments that she can do. What would you suggest?
    Thank You
